While all plans are unique and individualized to the needs of each client, True North Therapies strives to put emphasis on social skills and gaining independence in life skills.

What is Autism?
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental disorder that affects how an individual learns, communicate, interacts with others and behaves. It is characterized by deficits in communication, social interactions and the presence of restricted, repetitive behaviors. A diagnosis is accompanied by a severity level, indicating level of support needed. Autism has a wide variety of symptoms. It can be diagnosed as early as two years old and early intervention is critical.
According to the CDC, one in thirty-six children are diagnosed with ASD.
What is ABA?
Applied Behavior Analysis is the science of behavior used to improve behaviors of social significance. ABA is the leading treatment for individuals with ASD. Early intervention is key!
ABA is used to help remediate many skill deficits, but most commonly skills affiliated with communication, social skills, life skils, coping and self-management. ABA helps teach appropriate replacement behaviors to socially inappropriate behaviors (destruction, tantrums, aggression, elopement, etc.) that can restrict opportunities and inhibit learning and social opportunities faced by those with ASD.
